Preference Points

Points allocated for B-BBEE status under the PPPFA. In the 80/20 system (tenders up to R50 million), up to 20 points are allocated for B-BBEE. In the 90/10 system (tenders above R50 million), up to 10 points are allocated. A Level 1 B-BBEE contributor receives maximum preference points. These points are added to the price score to determine the overall winner.
