How many working days is a tender deadline?

South African public-sector tender windows are set in working days, not calendar days. The minimums:

  • 21 working days — standard open tenders.
  • 30 working days — complex or high-value tenders.

Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and all 12 South African public holidays. Counting starts the day after the advertisement date; the closing day is counted as a working day.

Use the deadline calculator to get the exact date.
