How do I register on the Central Supplier Database?
The Central Supplier Database (CSD) is the single, mandatory supplier database for all South African government procurement. Registration is free and takes about 30 minutes if you have your documents ready.
- Visit csd.treasury.gov.za and click Self-register.
- Create a supplier identification number with your CIPC number.
- Capture bank details, directors, industry classifications, and BBBEE status.
- Upload a bank confirmation letter and any industry-specific certificates.
- Submit — SARS and CIPC verification happens automatically within 24 hours.
Once registered, your CSD number must appear on every tender response and every invoice to government. Keep your bank details, directors, and BBBEE status up to date — out-of-date CSD records are a common cause of disqualification.
