Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Programme over a period of 2 years: The appointment of a panel of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Service providers to manufacture, supply, deliver, and install smart meters, Data Concentrator Units (DCUs), ready board retrofit, access covers, insulation piercing connectors (IPC), pole top split metering kiosks, secure pole mount DC kiosks, and all related accessories. This will also include the decommissioning, scrapping, and disposal of the Distribution Division's existing meters. Work will be executed on an “as and when” required basis. The EPC Service providers shall be responsible for supply, installation, commissioning, and handover of a smart meter that is fully functional and connected to the Eskom communication network.
